Blue Hole Diver
Hi All..
I am a Blue Hole Diver ~~~~~ !!
At 132 feet is a “cavelike” entrance with 15’ stalactites hanging down.. They were formed thousands of years ago in caves before the land collapsed preserving them for all time. The pictures you see of the blue hole are misleading.. it is not a ring of islands at all but an atoll 10-60’ below the surface of the water. From the satellite shots it just looks as if the land is above water.. It was a very cool set of dives.
I missed the Chiken Drop Wed night in town. I don’t know if I have all the fact exactly right, but from what I hear there is a big fenced off area (square) marked off in numbered squares. You put money down on a certain square and they release a fat chicken into the area… everyone screams until the chicken poops, and if the chicken poops on your square, you win !!! Then something about drawing straws and the winner gets to take the chicken home for dinner… - something like that… :-)
Today is the last full day of diving.. The week went fast.
Tomorrow five of us are going “cave tubing” and rainforest canopy zip lining. We wanted a day out of the water before flying back.
One bummer… the flash unit on the camera is not working. Not the camera flash but the side arm.. so the pictures may not be as good as hoped… AND in San Padro you cannot just run down to get a new one, so we will make do with what we’ve got….
Hope all is well
Until next time

Hi All..
I cannot tell you the joy of diving in warm water!! No Dry suit, heck – we all even dropped wearing wetsuits.. The water is 84 degrees on the top and 78 degrees at 60 feet so just fine.
The colors are beautiful and over each ridge is more and more sealife to see, explore and enjoy.
Tuesday we went to a spot where we fed some sharks. Close enough to touch and “pet”. Not “great whites” but in the beginning I still was a bit timid. Then on to spear fishing for our “banquet” happening Friday. We scored with one lobster and two barracuda.
Thursday is the “Blue Hole”. I leave at 5:50AM - 2 hour boat ride and then a full day of diving. This will be world class diving, and a spot any diver would LOVE to experience…
Until later…. -
